IT’S TITLE TIME FOR TAMDAN McCRORY
LAS VEGAS — Tamdan “The Barn Cat” McCrory wants the Bellator FC middleweight championship belt around his waist.
Under the Bellator FC banner, the Binns Management fighter has snapped a five-year layoff with a vicious 21-second KO over striking specialist Brennan Ward and a 66-second submission win over grappling whiz Jason Butcher.
It’s not just the victories, the six-time UFC veteran says, but “how (he’s) been winning.”
“I’ve beaten two guys so far — one was a tournament winner, the other was a tournament finalist,” McCrory says.
“One they call ‘The Arm Collector,’ and he got his arm collected. One who prides himself as a brawler and a banger, and he hit the deck in 21 seconds.
“Nobody else is winning like this; definitely not at middleweight.”
Brandon Halsey is to defend the organization’s 185-pound championship against Kendall Grove at Bellator 137, May 15 in California. But McCrory doesn’t care who he has to fight — and beat — to claim his title.
And although he deserves it now, he knows it’s just a matter of time.
“There’s going to be a certain point where I can’t be ignored,” “The Barn Cat” says, “and they’re going to have to give me mine.
“I’m going to keep going on the warpath until there’s no other option.”
